| Is there anything else you want to share with us about this dealership? | I had a great buying experience with them on my 2021 Tahoe last September. MSRP with no extra fees and only a $301 title fee. I liked it so much that I then ordered another car exactly as I wanted.
It was going to take several months or a year to get so it was difficult to negotiate a trade in value well in advance. At time of order they offered $10k below KBB with the further protection of the right to lower/change once ordered vehicle came in. This took away all my leverage so we just agreed that they would update the value at time of delivery and of course I would not have to trade in my car if not happy with value. Four months later when car came in they no longer would sell car to me unless I accepted their previous trade in offer. They said they could sell the car I ordered for $10k over sticker and wouldn't mind me backing out of the signed deal. I asked them to match what I was offered from another dealer on trade and they rejected. I walked.
They then sent me an invoice for 5% of MSRP (restocking fee) of car I ordered. When I spoke with manager and said I wanted to buy without my trade they said they already sold the car to someone else I still owned the 5% fee. How can they can charge a restocking fee for a car not in stock? |
