Is there anything else you want to share with us about this dealership?Yes, they sold the truck at MSRP but sitting down and figuring things out - they made somewhere between 6% and 7% on the purchase. I'm OK with that. I did get a private cash offer from Ford that reduced my out of pocket. They didn't charge me huge fees. The processing fee was modest for my region. They didn't require financing through them, or an ESP, or any add ons. They did suggest getting the bed liner done locally - it was a few dollars more, but the aftermarket place takes the bolts securing the bed to the frame off, spray the liner, then put the bolts back on. That way if the bed ever needs to come off the truck the liner isn't automatically ruined. They went through two iterations of the truck order with me - I initially got a quote with the Lariat trim level, discussed it with my wife, went back and changed to XLT because it was just too much for our comfort level. Most importantly: I was treated with respect. My wife was treated with respect. I never felt any pressure. I know I could have gone to the big dealership, and had tried again after a 10 year hiatus, but found they were just as dismissive of my wife (hey, our F-150 is her vehicle, she drives it most of the time if we aren't towing - I think she's going to have some imput on what we want fellas!), and they tried to pressure us into a purchase on the night of our first test drive. Yeah, they're giving good deals on the price, but the fees are exorbitant and some of them are clear B.S. If you're charging $749 just say your charging $749. Don't try to call it consumer identity protection fees. So, long story short: I know I'm not going to get the best deal on price at Townsend. But they aren't gouging past MSRP in the current climate, they're not forcing extras, and they're treating you with respect through the process.
